Multiresolution Analysis on Searching for People in Gigapixel Images

Abstract

Digital images can be found in several sizes and they can be easily displayed on a computer screen using algorithms that reduce their dimensions. Recent advances have contributed to the emergence of gigapixel images with a large amount of information. These images can be understood as an image mosaic with multiple single pictures. In this work, we propose and analyze a multiresolution method for finding people in gigapixel images. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed approach.
